     Suburban Buffalo, N.Y. is served by nine paid weekly newspapers published by Bee Group Newspapers. The flagship paper, The Amherst Bee, was founded in 1879.

     Several Bee newspapers celebrated major anniversaries, continuing our long time support of the many communities we serve. The Amherst Bee and Lancaster Bee’s turned 125 years old and the Cheektowaga Bee turned 25 years old. In 2007 the Ken-Ton Bee will be 25 years old.

     Our weekly readership of 175,672 includes Amherst, Williamsville, Clarence, Kenmore, the Town of Tonawanda, West Seneca, Orchard Park, Lancaster, Depew, Cheektowaga, Elma and East Aurora. We are the official newspapers for Erie County and most area towns, villages and school districts.

     August 3, 2005 we began the publication of The Bee, Amherst’s Newspaper. One year later on August 3, 2006 we began The Bee, Cheektowaga’s Newspaper. All papers include our award-winning classified section and all special themed sections produced throughout the year.

     Both The Bee, Amherst’s Newspaper and The Bee, Cheektowaga’s Newspaper are free at over 150 locations in Amherst and 100 locations in Cheektowaga. These high-traffic locations throughout these towns have our black boxes with “The Bee” logo in bright yellow and are easy to locate. In addition to the black boxes we have more than 250 inside racks in high-traffic locations.

     Yes, The Amherst Bee and Cheektowaga Bee are still paid circulation newspapers that are mail-delivered weekly to subscribers. We have a limited number of free copies for those readers who wish to pick-up a copy at one of our locations. We will not toss our newspapers into bushes, driveways or deliver to people who do not wish to read our newspapers. These free additional copies must be chosen by the reader at one of our news boxes or inside locations.

     Quality features and articles in The Bee, Amherst's Newspaper will be the same as that of our flagship newspaper that has served the Town of Amherst for more than 125 years... The Amherst Bee.
