Best of the Blotter 2004

Excerpts from police calls are a regular feature in all nine Bee Group Newspapers. Some of the more unusual reports from 2004 are reprinted here. Each is an actual listing from a town police blotter.

Authorities were called to settle a dispute in which the daughter of a woman alleged her mother read her diary.
  • A man was stuck inside an ATM booth on Niagara Falls Boulevard, Amherst, because the door handle was broken.
  • A man reported the theft of his car after he ran out of gas on Broadway; he later found it in the ditch where he left it.
  • An Oakleaf Lane resident reported the theft of beer from his garage.
  • An Elma woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after her vehicle was discovered rested against bushes near a home on Mill Road .
  • Authorities were called to settle a dispute in which the daughter of an East Aurora woman alleged her mother read her diary.
  • A Grover Road man laying across his front seat was charged with driving while intoxicated on Jewett Holmwood Road .
  • Authorities responded to a scene where a woman slammed on a vehicle's brakes and took the keys from the ignition and threw them in the snow on Sycamore Street near Crescent Avenue. The woman and two men were reportedly involved in a night of drinking.
  • Extremely loud music was playing since the morning on October Lane. The caller said it was unusual because there were no lights on in the house. Pool speakers were disconnected.
  • An 80-year-old Amherst man was stuck in a car window because he was trying to get out of the opening because the doors were frozen shut.
  • While plowing on Independence Drive , a 36-year-old Hamburg man almost backed into an Orchard Park police vehicle. The man was stopped and subsequently arrested for aggravated unliscenced operation of a motor vehicle.
  • An elderly woman called police for assistance with a toilet that kept flushing and leaking.
  • While exiting the Tops Friendly Market lot on Orchard Park Road , a West Seneca man's car was engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished by the Orchard Park Fire Company, and the vehicle was declared a total loss.
  • Three pudding containers were thrown at a residence on Osgood Avenue , damaging a shutter.
  • Someone stole an all-terrain vehicle and a trailer, both chained to a tree on Clinton Street .
  • A sled and ice skates were taken from the front porch of a residence on St.
    Joan Lane .
    Three men were reported throwing Jello at windows of homes on Harlem Road .
  • A 23-year-old Eden resident was stopped for lack of a rear license plate on Big Tree Road . She was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree.
  • A recycle bin was thrown through the rear window of a vehicle that was parked in a Kenmore driveway.
  • Erie County Sheriff's deputies were called by a woman who said a saltshaker had broken her dining room window.
  • A Clarence man was charged with disorderly conduct when he became unruly at a dance.
  • Security personnel at the Home Depot on Ridge Road detained a subject who allegedly put brass nipples in the pocket of his jeans and exited the store without paying for the merchandise.
  • A subject was charged with assault after allegedly striking a Schultz Road woman twice on the head in an attempt to bless her. A neighbor said the same suspect shook her in a March incident when he rang her doorbell to talk about religion and she asked him to leave.
  • A child had a crayon stuck in it's nose.
  • A motorist stopped on Mineral Springs Road because his vehicle had no taillights, also had no license. He told police his license has been suspended 17 times.
  • Hot chocolate was thrown on a van on Sweet Home Road , Amherst .
  • A squirrel bit a girl's shoe while walking a dog on Springville Avenue , Amherst .
  • A caller reported a car with four skull heads in the back window driving down Hopkins Road , Amherst .
  • While off-duty, an Amherst police officer was locked out of his car on Chassin Avenue .
  • Keppler Music Center was taking inventory after a white male was seen running north on Briarwood Drive carrying a guitar.
  • A suspect stole a car stereo, satellite receiver and laptop computer from a car parked on Knox Avenue and also vomited inside the vehicle.
  • A thin man peeked in windows of a Kensington Avenue restaurant then opened the door and screamed inside.
  • A caller reported finding a possible human bone in a Lafayette Boulevard , Amherst , backyard.
  • A Hedgerow Drive resident called to report a hit and run accident. Apparently an unknown driver struck her vehicle and then fled the scene.
  • An 80 year old man got stuck in a car window, when he was exiting the vehicle after the doors had frozen shut.
  • An 18-year-old son hosed down his mother with apple juice and cola on Cresthaven Drive , Amherst .
  • Concrete company employees reported someone made wheelchair marks in freshly poured sidewalks on Walden and Central. The estimated cost of re-pouring the concrete was $4,000.
  • A woman reportedly watched a woman steal a $20 gift card and a library card from a purse on her Gould Avenue porch.
  • A caller reported someone was smoking in her car during dark hours on Little Robin Road, Amherst.
  • Tylenol and change were stolen in the burglary of a residence on South Fisher Road
  • A Birchwood Court resident reported blood by his pool and was afraid an animal was dead in his pool.
  • Contents of a box were thrown around and pages were shredded on Campus Drive , Amherst ; it was caused by a dog.
  • A caller reported his neighbor took his name plate off the mailbox again and would like to press charges, however it was discovered the name plate simply fell off.
  • Fresh footprints were found around the garbage at a Klas Avenue residence.
  • A suspect grabbed a product from a Union Road nutrition center and ran out the door.
  • A customer had his jacket stolen by three amle teens; he later found his coat stuffed in the men's room toilet.
  • A man was arrested for attempting to break into a neighboring apartment on Transit by breaking through the wall.
  • A video arcade machine fell from a vehicle on Broadway.
  • One dog was brought to doggy jail, without bail, from Goering Avenue .
  • A caller reported that he was a victim of Internet theft after he ordered and paid for an automobile turbocharger from E-Bay. He never received the item.
  • A Fawn Terrace resident called to report that someone had thrown a Crown Royal liquor bottle through the rear window of his vehicle parked in the driveway.
  • A man was charged with assault after he reportedly broke another man's arm with a work tool on Walden Avenue .
  • A man was arrested for disorderly conduct in Lancaster after throwing his daughter's property out of a second story window.
  • An Olean Road man sleeping in his car with an acquaintance on his lap in a Main Street parking lot was cited for driving with suspended registration.
  • A juvenile was reportedly punched in the face at Big Daddy's on Main Street .
  • A Hamlin Avenue man who reportedly resisted arrest vomited inside the police car.
  • A Davis Road woman reported her daughter was drunk for two days and walking around the house naked while becoming physically and verbally abusive. She was voluntarily transported to the Erie County Medical Center .
  • A bumper was left at the scene of a hit and run on Sable Palm Drive with the suspect's license plate.
  • Officers responded to a home on Elmwood Avenue for a report a drunken, disorderly teen.
  • An elderly resident reported a bird in the house on Kensington Avenue . The resident was advised to open windows and doors, however it was determined there was a dead battery in a smoke detector and there was no bird.
  • Customers were concerned for a clerk at a Main Street , Amherst , store because there was a sign, “Be back in 20 minutes.” There was no problem; the clerk was in the bathroom.
  • A missing child on Colvin Avenue was found in the backyard hiding.
  • A suspicious person reported on Roll Road turned out to be a party picking up bottles.
  • A patrol investigated a suspicious incident behind an elementary school. It was teenagers playing paintball.
  • A Buffalo woman was charged with larceny, criminal mischief and assault stemming from a shoplifting incident at a Transit Road business when she bit a loss prevention officer.
  • A woman reported the theft of her car from the parking lot of a Transit Road store.
  • A suspect reportedly fled the Aldi's store on Harlem Road with a case of steaks concealed in a purple box.
  • An Amherst supermarket employee reports a disturbed person inside. Patrols reported all OK; relative asking for mercy for a shoplifter.
  • A bullet was found lodged in the telephone cable of a Broadway man's home after he reported problem's with his phone service.
  • Various lawn decorations and furniture valued at $249 were reported stolen on Ridgeview Street . The property was later located in the creek near the home.
  • Someone put approximately 30 minnows in a Bellwood Avenue swimming pool.
  • A complainant received an "award notification" from the "El Gordo Sweepstakes Lottery Company" of Madrid , Spain . The notification requested bank account and routing numbers.
  • An individual was charged with petit larceny in connection with the theft of five potted plants from the Tops market on Harlem Road .
  • A disturbance was reported in a hot tub in a Springville Avenue , Amherst , backyard; no one was in the hot tub.
  • A large group of 3-year-olds on tricycles was reported in an Allenhurst Road , Amherst , alley.
  • Police were called to diamond five at Stiglmeier Park , Cheektowaga because an intoxicated fan was harassing an umpire.
  • A Hemenway Road resident complained that they were finding dead rats in their yard and suspected that their neighbor was throwing them there.
  • A Hamburg resident reported that while her car was parked in the Target lot, somneone keyed the vehicle.
  • An Orchard Park resident reported that someone stole his mailbox.
  • A muddy footprint was observed in a bathtub after a Collins Avenue complainant reported the burglary of a residence.
  • A woman complained of harassment after an unknown motorist followed her vehicle and told her, "I'm in the Army and this is a citizen's arrest." The individual followed her home before leaving at a high rate of speed.
  • A lime green, 350-pound statue of Buddha was reported stolen from a lawn on Como Park Boulevard .
  • A gas station clerk reported an attempted robbery after a man tried to reach over the counter and grab money from the register. The clerk beat him off with a telephone.
  • An employee from a Hamburg development firm called to report that someone drained the diesel fuel from an excavator.
  • Orchard Park Police stopped a 22-year-old Hamburg man for improper plates on Lake Avenue near Bielak Road . He was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and driving an unregistered vehicle.
  • A Vinewood Drive resident reported power tools stolen from his truck.
  • Criminal mischief was reported on several area roadways as vehicles were damaged. Three Clarence men were charged after being stopped on Roll Road and were taken to the holding center.
  • A small boxer dog had its head stuck on a fence on Halstead Avenue .
  • A person stated that the cart boy of a store on Union Road deliberately hit their car with a cart.
  • An animal was stuck in a garage with its tail hanging out of a vent on Hopkins Road , Amherst .
  • An intoxicated man urinated on a MacArthur Drive , Amherst , house.
  • An injured squirrel came down out of a tree on Columbia Drive , Williamsville.
  • A customer was stating that shoes that belong to a Transit Road , Amherst , store are hers.
  • An Akron man was charged with trespassing when he was found sleeping in another person's car on Clarence Center Road .
  • A Martin Road resident reported the theft of solar landscape lights.
  • Youths were shooting fireworks from the second floor apartment on Cleveland Hill Drive .
  • A Baker Road resident reported that someone tried to steal a golf cart from his property. The caller reported that he has had several incidents on his property involving youths.
  • A Squire Drive resident called to report that someone threw a highway warning marker at her overhead garage door.
  • Two males tipped over a port-a-potty then stood it back up on Sweet Home Road , Amherst .
  • A caller reported her husband's arm was stuck in a broken metal kitchen cabinet on Tristan Lane .
  • An Alden woman refused to pay a cab driver his fare; she paid when advised by patrol. She was then arrested on an outstanding warrant and taken to the holding center.
  • A woman was charged with larceny and endangering the welfare of a minor when she was caught shoplifting at a Transit Road store with her two young daughters.
  • A Davis Road man reported someone damaged his storm door with a jack hammer. No such evidence existed.
  • A juvenile was discovered sleeping on a bench on Warren Drive .
  • A male was arrested after breaking into a store on Walden Avenue and then getting stuck inside.
  • A police report was filed for 20 missing shirts from a Walden Galleria Mall store.
  • An Orchard Park woman reported that while her vehicle was parked in near a shelter in Chestnut Ridge Park , someone broke the passenger side window and stole a quantity of CDs. The woman had left her vehicle to go for a walk.
  • A driver from a limousine company called to report that a limousine was on fire on Hunter's Ridge Road . The fire was extinguished by the Hillcrest Fire Department and was believed to be caused by an electrical problem.
  • A television in the basement of a Princeton Avenue , Amherst , apartment building had been on for three days; the resident said it was scaring her.
  • A man using a pay phone at a Niagara Falls Boulevard restaurant said he needed to see police because it was “very important” but wouldn't say what the problem was. When police arrived, the man wanted a ride home; he was denied.
  • A Seneca Street man who exited a vehicle after an argument on Knox Road reported the driver ran over his hand. While on the side of the road the intoxicated man then told authorities a motorcycle or moped ran over his hand.
  • A Sycamore Street man told authorities he told the man to get out of his car after the passenger began striking the driver.
  • A Griggs Place woman found a ring on Center and South Street . She told authorities the ring was appraised at $700 to $800. It was stored for safekeeping.
  • A Tops employee reported witnessing unknown suspects hold onto a shopping cart while driving across the parking lot and directing the cart into a parked vehicle belonging to a Cheektowaga resident.
  • A driver was stopped for having a piece of cardboard with numbers on it in the place of a front license plate.
  • An employee of Tops Market called to report that while he was lining carts up in the parking lot, an elderly women backed up into the carts, pinning him to the cart corral. The woman allegedly got out of her car, looked around and then drove away.
  • A Daisy Lane resident reported that someone smashed the passenger-side window of his vehicle parked out in front of the residence.
  • A bus driver called from Borden Road for assistance because they couldn't figure out an alternate route to get the students home.
  • Youths were reported shooting vehicles with water guns on Harlem Road .
  • A Rutland Avenue resident reported their neighbor threatened to blow up their house because they had called the building inspector.
  • Lawn ornaments were stolen from Hedley Street .
  • A mother-in-law was not wanted in a house on Northledge Drive , Amherst .
  • A caller thought someone was in her Oakgrove Drive home because she just heard someone playing her piano.
  • A David Avenue resident reported he had crutches stolen.
  • An Akron man was charged with DWI after he parked his car in the ditch at Clarence Center and Salt roads. He was taken to the holding center on bail.
  • A loose cow was reported on Lesswing Road . It was gone when patrol arrived.
  • A Buffalo woman reported that someone had driven a nail into her vehicle's tire as it sat in front of a Jackie Lane residence she was visiting. She said her vehicle had been keyed a week earlier in the same location.
  • Police charged a woman with DWI on Central Avenue after observing her vehicle “all over the road.”
  • A customer from an Amherst , store had his jacket stolen by three male teens; he later found his coat stuffed in the men's room toilet.
  • A child had a crayon stuck in its nose on Mapleton Drive , Amherst .
  • An Ellis Road resident reported two men were trying to break into her house, one of whom she knew.
  • A woman reported that she left an envelope containing $338 on the counter of a Transit Road supermarket after cashing a check, and someone took it.
  • A Penora Street man reported that he believes he is being followed, and that there are peepholes in his house.
  • A larceny was reported at a Transit Road business, the safe was reported taken it was recovered near a door.
  • Police charged a man with second-degree robbery after the victim saw him exit his residence with his X-Box video game system. The victim held the man until police arrived, and said that two cell phones and 63 CDs, games and DVDs valued at $1,050 were missing.
  • An off-duty police officer reported that a manhole cover was missing from the sewer on River Street , leaving a large hole.
  • Golf balls were blamed for the damage to shingles on a South Ridge Road house. In a previous incident, the damage was done with apples.
  • A Blasdell woman reported the theft of her cell phone from the casino at Chestnut Ridge Park .
  • A Buffalo woman reported that while she was driving on Abbott Road , sitting in traffic, an unknown person came up to her vehicle and broke her antennae off of her car. The man then scratched he car with the antennae before leaving the scene.
  • A Theresa Drive resident complained that someone was blowing or raking leaves into the street.
  • Someone was reported going through the garbage, smashing pumpkins, running through yards and knocking on doors on Boll Street .
  • A neighbor on Hopkins Road , Amherst , was screaming out the window and throwing stuff at the caller's house.
  • A supervisor for a Walden Avenue delivery service reported that a computer and a pair of eyeglasses valued at $600 were missing from the warehouse.
  • A man was passed out in a car on Hazelwood Drive , Amherst ; people were knocking on the window but he was not responding.
  • A 12-year-old boy was out of control and calling his little sister names at their Amherst home.
  • An employee of a George Urban Boulevard bar reported that an intoxicated patron broke a door window valued at $300 after starting a fight. Police arrested the man after a brief foot chase, and added resisting arrest to a list of charges.
  • A man reported that someone stole a mountain bike valued at $100 from his open Ashwood Place garage.
  • An 81-year-old Clarence woman was charged with larceny, when she was caught shoplifting at a Transit Road store. She was released on an appearance ticket.
  • Suspicious persons were reported on Manor Wood Drive . Two men were said to be selling meat door to door. They were gone when patrol arrived.
  • A mountain bike was stolen from Shelby Drive , it was located and one arrest was made.
  • A male was advised after exposing while urinating near the pumps at a Walden Avenue gas station.
  • A Genesee Street gas station reported a male did not pay for gas two weeks ago, left his license but has not returned.
  • An Amherst woman was sent a CD of love songs from her ex-boyfriend. Police labeled it as just a love letter so no crime was committed.
  • A caller caught a male trying to steal cinder blocks on North Bailey Avenue , Amherst .
  • A polite thief said, “Thank you very much” as he pushed down an employee and exited a Union Road Sunoco station with a pilfered 12-pack of beer. The suspect was last seen running west on Center Road .
  • A woman reported that someone had forced open the back door of her Iroquois Avenue residence while she was out. She said nothing appeared to be missing.
  • A woman reported that she lost her wallet containing her ID, six credit cards and $400 after she thought she put it in her pocket at a Dick Road restaurant. The wallet was dropped off at a George Urban gas station minus the cash.
  • A bounce house was stolen from the trunk of a car on Bryant Woods South, Amherst.
  • Two cars were doing “doughnuts” in a Maple Road , Amherst , parking lot.
  • A Clarence woman was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and several traffic violations, when she was stopped on Wehrle Drive , she was taken to the holding center on bail.
  • A Tamark Court male was in his back yard blowing a bugle. The man claimed he was exercising his religious beliefs but was advised to put it away. He complied.
  • The mother of an inmate at the Erie County Correctional Facility was charged with promoting prison contraband, when she tried to smuggle drugs into him during a visitation. His girlfriend was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.
  • A driver hit a deer on Union Road , causing the windows to blow out.
  • Seven deer around a caller's car would not let her get near it on Cimarand Drive , Amherst .
  • A fire alarm was reported at a Main Street motel. Smoke was noticed in the building. It was caused by an overheated sump pump.
  • A person reported their digital camera was stolen off of a seat at a bar on Harlem Road .
  • Someone was riding an electric scooter in the street on Marine Drive .
  • A neighbor's dog bit the caller's dog on Berehaven Drive .
  • A man reported that someone threw pop or grape juice on the hood of his car as it sat parked on Laverack Avenue .
  • Police charged a man with unlawful possession of marijuana after observing him make an unsafe traffic pass on Transit Road .
  • A woman who left her laptop computer on the front seat of her unlocked and running vehicle had the computer stolen after she left the vehicle unattended at a Colvin Boulevard Kwik Fill.
  • Police broke up a group of youths who were loitering near Lincoln Park . The youths were trampling flower beds and front lawns.
  • A suspicious vehicle was reported on Sheridan Drive . Patrol found out that the vehicle's operator was moving into her new residence.
  • A woman reported that someone taken her purse containing credit cards, ID and house and car keys from a Walden Avenue bar when she went to the bathroom.
  • A man reported that someone threw a brick at his vehicle as it sat parked while he was working at the Depew Skating Center .
  • An elderly Williamsville woman called police for assistance with a toilet that kept flushing and leaking.
  • A caller reported he was in a Maple Road store for 10 minutes and someone stole his car; the youth's parents took the car home.
  • A 27-year-old West Falls man was stopped on Route 20 A for driving with a loud muffler and failing to keep right. He was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated.
  • A Buffalo man was stopped for driving an uninsured vehicle. He was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and driving with a suspended registration. He was released to the Town of Hamburg Police Department on an outstanding warrant.
  • An 8-year-old child was bitten by a wild mouse on Oakbrook Drive , Amherst .
  • A sick woodchuck was in a Berkley Road , Amherst , side yard.
  • A man was charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license after police found a glass smoking pipe and prescription drugs during a traffic stop on Transit Road in Depew .
  • A man reported catching someone trying to remove his car stereo in the parking lot of a Transit Road movie theater.­ The suspect fled on foot into a wooded area.
  • A larceny was reported at a Transit Road store, two women took lingerie and fled after pushing a clerk.
  • A Buffalo man was arrested for larceny for shoplifting at a Transit Road store, he was also charged with possession of a hypodermic needle, he was taken to the holding center.
  • A snapping turtle was reported on a bike path on North Forest Road , Amherst .
  • A suspicious bag in a Roycroft Boulevard , Amherst , backyard held empty beer containers.
  • Someone took the license plate from a vehicle parked on Main Street , but replaced the screws.
  • A man was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after he used obscene language with an officer who told him his vehicle was in a no parking zone on Edson Street .
  • A bicycle was taken from a garage on Fireside Drive .
    A suspicious person was reported panhandling at a Transit Road store; she was gone when the patrol arrived.
  • A man was going out of his house, honking the horn on his truck, then going back in the house, several times, on Tamark Court .
  • A female damaged a vehicle when she jumped on it while being chased by a dog on Loxley Drive .
  • A Transit Road business reported the theft of several thousand dollars in lingerie.
  • Plastic forks and knifes were found on the front lawn of a Fontaine Drive home; a report was filed for harassment.
  • Neighbors on Lochland Drive were having a dispute about saw dust.
  • A statue of "a man in a pointy hat" was stolen from a Country Lane porch.
  • A vandal spray painted crude drawings and the words "skool " and "anarcey rulz" on the south wall of Allendale Elementary School .
  • Orchard Park Police stopped a 26-year-old Buffalo male on the 219 Expressway for failing to keep right and failing to signal a lane change. He was also arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana and driving an uninspected motor vehicle.
  • An Oakwood Drive resident reported that someone broke a right-side window on his vehicle.
  • Three to four males kicked garbage cans then mooned houses across the street on Tonawanda Creek Road , Amherst .
  • A neighbor was yelling at a caller for feeding ducks on South Ellicott Creek Road , Amherst ; the neighbor was blaming her for attracting rats by feeding the birds.
  • A man was arrested for exposing himself at a Broadway laundromat.
  • A representative of a Transit Road grocery store reported that someone tried to obtain a refund for an item at the service desk without a receipt. Video showed the suspect had taken the item from the store's shelf.
  • A Clarence man was charged with DWI when he was stopped on Main Street ; he was released on appearance tickets.
  • A 39-year-old female walked out of St. Joseph Hospital with an IV in her arm and pump still attached, she was located and advised.
  • Several youths “higher than kites” were reported on Gualbert Avenue .
  • A car full of nuns had a flat tire on the Kensington Expressway.
  • An orange was thrown at a truck on Samantha Way , it was part of an ongoing problem.
  • When police awakened the driver of a strange vehicle found in a Berg Road driveway, he was asked if he knew where he was. "The Pier," responded the driver, who was charged with DWI.
  • A complainant on Tudor Boulevard said someone kicked three pickets off his white wooden fence.
  • A Marilyn Drive complainant found several of his belongings, including a scooter, hose reel, plastic lawn chair and part of a steel fire pit, in his swimming pool.
  • A 38-year-old Gowanda man was stopped for following a police car too closely. He was charged with driving with a suspended registration.
  • An employee at U-Haul found a car in the lot when he arrived at work. The car was found to be stolen out of Littleton , Colo. Police in Littleton were notified.
  • A motorist on Seneca Street was charged with DWI after being observed driving erratically and throwing a bottle out of the vehicle.
  • A bicycle left in the care of a friend was reported missing from a Crownland Circle address after a suspect claimed the owner gave him permission to ride it.
  • A Lancaster man reported that someone had taken his bank card and had charged more than $1,000 at a Canadian store.
  • Four men were arrested for trying to break into cars, taking several gas caps and causing landscape and light-fixture damage on Terrell Street .
  • A patrol investigated several fireworks complaints in the Pine Breeze Lane area. The fireworks turned out to be duck hunters on opening day of the season.
  • A Clarence man was charged with driving with a suspended license when he was stopped while operating a gas-powered scooter on Shimerville Road . He was released on appearance tickets.
  • Two males described as “bums” were attempting to sell food out of a freezer in the back of a truck with no front license plates on Rosemont Drive .
  • A man playing the guitar and drinking beer in front of a convenience store on Maple Road ,
    Amherst , was harassing customers; he was advised not to talk to customers anymore.
  • A Depew man reported that someone had made six-foot scratches up and down both sides of his vehicle as it sat in front of his Suffield Street residence.

  • A wedding party on Wehrle Drive , Amherst , was refusing to pay the bill until the manager dropped the gratuities.
  • A neighbor kept throwing garbage over a fence into a pool on Towhee Court .
  • A golf cart was being driven up and down Victoria Boulevard but there are no golf courses nearby.
  • A vehicle drove into a construction site on Walden Avenue and got hung up. A private tow company was called to free the vehicle.
  • A female from Foxmeadow Drive reported that her house was entered and a television set was stolen.
  • Someone threw an apple through a window at a Sundridge Drive home.
  • After two males ran through a Shady Grove Drive backyard, the resident tried to catch one of them but only got one backpack.
  • A cat was at the back door of an Ivyhurst Road home making noises. The resident tried to scare the cat away and threw water on it.
  • A caller told Amherst Police that a suspicious man, saying he was from Ukraine and carrying a teal-colored box with Winnie the Pooh paper around it, was asking people to purchase items in the box at a Niagara Falls Boulevard restaurant.
  • An employee of a Transit Road rental facility reported that a trailer valued in excess of $3,000 was missing from the lot.
  • Police arrested a Lancaster man after he had broken a complainant's property, and charged him with unlawful possession of marijuana after finding a baggy in his pocket during the arrest.
  • Six youths were drunk and urinating on a Balbach Avenue home. The youths were turned over to their parents.
  • A male standing by a tree on Walden Avenue with a rope was investigated by police. There was no cause found; he was an amateur filmmaker.
  • A loud party was reported at a business on Genesee Street. Music by Billy Joel was turned off for the night.
  • A Nagel Drive resident reported that someone took all the plums off their trees.
  • Police responded to an attempted burglary at a Walden Avenue restaurant where someone had broken a window, but left after the alarm sounded.
  • A man reported that someone broke into his vehicle after he left it at a Walden Avenue business overnight for repairs, taking a sub woofer, a CD player and 170 CDs valued at $3,750.
  • A neighbor reported a man hiding in the bushes at a Tennyson Terrace home, but officers determined it was just a husband pranking his wife.
  • Three males were swinging from light poles and pushing carts into cars in a Transit Road, Amherst, parking lot.
