  • Troopers assisted a mother who was having trouble helping her daughter with a science question. She didn't know the answer so she contacted the state police.

  • A store employee removed a roof cover in the hopes that wet weather would cause an electrical problem and everyone would get the day off.

  • A pile of manure was on fire on Stage Road.

  • A vehicle was sideswiped in front of the Starbucks on Main Street.

  • A crazy man was reported digging with construction equipment, throwing dirt everywhere, on North Bailey Avenue.

  • A neighbor dispute over leaves was reported on Maryvale Drive.

  • A suspicious occupied vehicle was reported in the lot at Wal-Mart at the Thruway Plaza. It ended up being a customer waiting for the store to open to buy Furbies.

  • A disturbance was reported after a man was heard yelling over the Bills game on Gary Lane.

  • At least three golf hats were stolen from a car parked on Milestrip Road.

  • Someone left a note on Ward Road resident's computer. The caller thought his home had been broken into. It turned out to be a joke.

  • An Elmtree Road woman said she saw a large flash in the sky above Lake Erie.

  • Someone lit a pile of peat moss on fire near a FerndaleTerrace home.

  • Patrol settled an argument over a missing chicken from a Alexander Way refrigerator.

  • Water was reported coming out from under a sink by a Casey Road teen who was home alone.

  • Upon returning from work a Molnar Drive resident discovered that her residence had been burglarized. A video cassette recorder and two watches were taken. Also missing were two16-ounce bottles of soft drink. A package of bacon, half empty, was also discovered at the scene.

  • An Emporium Avenue resident reported a case of harassment. A pile of animal manure was left on the back porch with a note stuck in the pile. There are no suspects at this time.

  • A Union Road retailer apprehended a suspected shoplifter who attempted to leave the store without paying for a smoked ham, a beef tenderloin and six lobster tails. The total value of the items was $121.

  • A bookbag was stolen from a child while he was eating at a Union Road restaurant with his grandmother.

  • A Union Road retailer apprehended a shoplifter with $7.96worth of air fresheners.

  • A Buffalo man was arrested for shoplifting at a Seneca Street store. A bed ruffle valued at $20 and a bottle of cologne valued at $7 were taken.

  • A Lackawanna woman was arrested for stealing six donuts valued at $3 from an Orchard Park Road grocery store.

  • A Buffalo woman was arrested for shoplifting three greeting cards totaling $9.50 from an Orchard Park Road grocery store.

  • An Orchard Park Road retailer apprehended a shoplifter with$29 worth of items including bottles of ginsana, olive oil and a mango. On Briarhill Drive, a resident reported finding a white plastic Virgin Mary lawn ornament on her front lawn.

  • On Flohr Avenue, a resident reported that a decorative cement goose valued at $50 was taken by unknown persons.

  • A Round Trail resident reported a vehicle break in. A large bar of Irish Spring soap, valued at $1, was taken.

  • A candy machine was stolen from Dunn Tire. The machine is valued at $295. Also missing are the candy inside valued at$65 and $55 in quarters.

  • A Jolly Green Giant lawn ornament was stolen from the front yard of a Schultz Road resident.

  • A Via Marina resident called police after noticing "some type of spotting'' on the side of the house. Troopers determined the spots were bird droppings.

  • Pink and yellow toilet paper was put on a house on Raintree Court. Cabbage and peanuts were also left at the door.

  • Police arrested three youths on Highland for throwing snowballs at elderly women.

  • A passer by reported a fire on Mang Avenue. Police report someone mistook a science project for a fire.

  • A Hamburg man was charged with driving while intoxicated after officers witnessed him make a left turn from Knox Road onto Seneca Street where where no turn warnings are posted. When asked he had been drinking he said, "I had six beers and I was driving home after finding another one.'' He registered a .15 blood alcohol content.

  • Twenty orange construction cones were removed from a construction site on Center Road by an unknown person.

  • A Jolly Green Giant lawn ornament was stolen from the front yard of a Schultz Road resident.

  • A concrete lion was taken from a Pearl Street business. Also missing is the top of a concrete pagoda.

  • Two youths were reported placing cats in a garbage can and throwing it up in the air on Springfield Drive in Cheektowaga.

  • The windshield of a Giblin Drive resident was smashed with a brown plastic mailbox attached to a stand.

  • A Kenmore man reported damage to his vehicle while he attended a wedding reception on Orchard Park Road. The hood and quarter panels were dented by unknown persons.

  • A Phyllis Drive resident reported a compact disc player, 40compact discs and a pair of sunglasses stolen from his vehicle.

  • An intoxicated male was reported yelling at his neighbor while he took out the garbage on Curtiss Street inCheektowaga.

  • A suspicious person at a gas station was the manager opening the store.

  • A person was taken to the hospital following a fight over Chinese food. Children playing with a phone on Strickler Road dialed 911.The mother was in the shower at the time.

  • A person told police he saw his vehicle at a pool hall while it was supposed to be at a repair shop. Deputies called there pair shop.

  • Troopers checked Transit Road for a possible intoxicated driver. The driver was not intoxicated but just a little tired from his cross-country journey.

  • Troopers investigated a report of a Trailing Drive resident "streaking" through the neighborhood. The investigation revealed that the streaker wasn't completely naked; he was wearing sneakers.

  • Troopers responded to an Old Goodrich Road address to disperse a group of 20 youths who were annoying horses at that location.

  • A Round Trail Road resident reported his shed had been hit by kids in the neighborhood playing splatball.

  • A St. Jude resident reported that a fire had been set by unknown persons in a pile of trash at the curb. Thehomeowner put out the fire with a garden hose.

  • A burglary was reported at a Chamberlin residence. Culprits kicked in the door and took cash and coins, a jewelry box and jewelry.

  • A Willowcrest resident reported that an unknown person let the air of the tires of his vehicle and broke hissunglasses. The vehicle was unlocked at the time.

  • A Heather Hill Drive resident reported her home was vandalized when an unknown person splattered dye from a Bingo dabber on the outside.

  • A screen door was damaged at a Clinton Street business overnight by unknown persons. Several floodlights around the main office were unscrewed and missing. Total damage estimate is $320. Stereo equipment and approximately 150 compact discs were taken from a vehicle parked on Mineral Springs Road.

  • Three lawn chairs were taken from the rear deck of a Wimbledon Court residence.

  • A Westgate resident reported the theft of a trailer and ATV valued at $2,900.

  • A Center Road resident reported that vandals had damaged her vehicle by scratching with an unknown object.

  • A Tampa Drive resident reported an attempted theft of a car dolly. Hacksaw marks were discovered on the chain which secured it.

  • A Dirkson Avenue resident reported that culprits had broken the mirror off his vehicle parked on the street. The cost to replace the mirror is $17.

  • An Allendale Road resident reported that someone had broken the window out his vehicle, possibly by shooting it with a BB gun.

  • Two purses were stolen from the front seat of a vehicle parked at a Clinton Street cemetery while the owners of the purses were visiting a grave site.

  • A resident reported finding a Schwinn girl's bicycle in the driveway in the morning.

  • A Willowcrest resident reported that someone stole her BMX bicycle, valued at $200 from her garage.

  • Two Laurelton Court residents reported that their vehicle shad been ransacked by unknown persons. Loose change, a pair of driving gloves and a radar detector were among the items reported missing.

  • A 32-year-old West Seneca man was arrested for shoplifting a watch and battery with a combined value of $7.50 from a Union Road retail store.

  • A Benson Avenue resident reported that someone had hammered a 4-inch nail into the tire of her vehicle.

  • An unknown person removed the tail gate of a Ransier Road resident's Chevy truck.

  • The wallet of a Buffalo man was found lying in the street on South Avenue. The wallet had been reported stolen. It contained no money when found.

  • An abandoned vehicle was found at an automobile glass shop on Lein Road. The vehicle was towed. Attempts to contact the owner were not successful.

  • A large party was reported at a Milestrip Road home. A set of Buffalo Sabres tickets was stolen.

  • A pair of roosters damaged a car parked on North Buffalo Road.

  • A Canfield Terrace resident received collect phone calls from a man believed to be in prison.

  • An elderly man was observed preaching the gospel on a North Lake Drive bridge.

  • Officers responded to a call of an intoxicated West Falls man urinating on a sidewalk and yelling at a building on Oakwood Avenue. He was charged with disorderly conduct.
