Call for Singers, Buffalo Choral Arts Society
Tue. Jan 5 to Sun. Dec 5 2010
January 5, 2009, after 6PM
The Buffalo Choral Arts Society (BCAS), under the direction of Marcia A. Giambrone, will hold mid-year auditions for its 2009-2010 season: Tuesday, January 5, 2010 beginning at 6PM at Sweet Home High School, Sweet Home Road, Amherst, New York. Appointments are required and may be scheduled by calling Nancy Cannizzaro at 847- 6930 (w) or 856-1357 (h). All singers who are impassioned with the choral art are encouraged to audition. The group is seeking singers for all voice parts. Prospective auditioners are asked to prepare a solo from any published source which best exemplifies the singer’s range, tone and interpretive qualities. Pitch-matching, range exercises and sight reading will make up the remainder of the audition. BCAS was founded in 1966 by Robert F. Schulz, and since then has steadily established itself as one of Western New York’s premier choruses and an integral part of Buffalo’s music-loving community. h/c access |

Tues. evenings 6:30pm, Wed. mornings 10am
What makes "Music with Mar." different? The mission of the MwM program is to get more parents involved with their children in positive activities while using music to prepare them for the future!
Music with Mar. is a class where a caregiver and a child participate together in musical activities which enhance the four main areas of development-cognitive, social, motor and language. A good music foundation , as well as an all around good academic foundation, is laid through the use of well thought out lyrics and movements. Music with Mar. classes: *focus on the total development of the child, and not on musicality *children learn best through play and activation of many senses *provides an environment where the parent and child are comfortable *children can start to understand how to behave in this setting.
Music with Mar. ~~ *Class length is 45minutes *Adult attend with Child *Cost is $6.00/session or $25.00 for a block of five classes ~do not need to make consecutive weeks; ~must be w/instructor purchased from ~$25 card expires in 4months ~price per family/not per child ~not separated by ages; learn from siblings *Activities include: puppets rhythm instruments kazoos bean bags parade books *Special package ~5 classes + Bk w/4 CDs = $65 *Rules are for safety: turn off cell phones no eating
