| New Exhibit: Interwoven Passions: The Work of Bobbie Fuhrmann | ||

| The newest exhibit at Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village showcases over 40 works of nationally renowned and published fiber artist, Bobbie Fuhrmann. The exhibit includes many of the finest examples of her weaving, quilting and lacemaking. The exhibit highlights the mastery of technique, mathematical precision and innovation in her work. Bobbie’s quilt In Depth, a 3,000-piece hand-quilted and sewn object, uses perspective, color and pattern to create the illusion of a 3-dimensionality. Many of her original bobbin-lace pieces and complex weavings can also be seen. Come and enjoy this exhibit – it is a visual treat! See how the finest details combine to create depth, perspective and movement in these elaborate works. The museum is open Tuesday-Friday 9:30-4:30 year round, June to Mid- October, Saturday and Sunday 12:30- 4:30. The museum admission is $5.00 until June 2012, then admission will be $7.00 Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village (formerly Amherst Museum) is located at 3755 Tonawanda Creek Road, corner of New Road, in Amherst, midway between Buffalo and Niagara Falls. | Forest Lawn kicks off the fourth year of its popular Sunday In The Cemetery® Concert & Lecture Series on November 23 with an all-new It WAS A Wonderful Life (IWAWL), written and directed by Joseph Demerly. Narrator John Lay, Jr. – the first person to take up permanent residence in Forest Lawn (in 1850) – introduces several of the friends he’s made over the last 160+ years at Forest Lawn - all portrayed by local actors. They, in turn, create musical, comical and poignant glimpses of Christmases past, when they enjoyed life on this side of the Lawn! Hear from one of the founders of one of Buffalo’s iconic department stores, famous for its holiday displays. Sing along to some of your favorite Christmas carols. Learn the story behind Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, as told by his first wife, now a permanent resident of Forest Lawn. It all takes place in Forest Lawn’s historic and festively decorated chapel, with 11:00 a.m. and/or 2:00 p.m. performances five days a week through January 5, 2013. Deiotte. The Gifts of Grace gala will begin at 7pm with a social hour, hors d’oeuvres, beverages, and a gift basket raffle. The gala concert at 8pm will feature performances by St. Joe's music program alums and the current SJCI Swing Choir. Desserts, coffee, and tea will be served during the intermission/reception. Net proceeds from the event will be given directly to Deiotte, as a way for alumni to say “thank you” to their musical mentor.
