2013 Conservation Tree & Shrub Seedlings Available
Thu. Jan 24 to Wed. Mar 13
8am-5pm
Order forms for the 2013 Conservation Tree and
Shrub Seedling Sale are now available from Erie
County Soil and Water Conservation District.

The District is offering many varieties of
conservation trees and shrubs, wildflower seed
mixes, and seedling packets which have
combinations of trees and shrubs chosen to
attract, feed and shelter birds, butterflies and
other wildlife. Landowners can practice
conservation by planting seedlings and wildflowers
to provide wildlife food and habitat, shelter crops
and landscape, reduce heating/cooling expenses,
protect water quality, reduce air pollution, and
stabilize erodible land. Seedlings are also an
inexpensive alternative for replacing trees that
have been damaged or lost.

Thirty-two species of trees and shrubs are
available this year. The one-to-three-year-old
bare root seedlings, which range in size from 6 to
24 inches, are available in lots of 10 to 500. The
District is offering an expanded selection of four-
year-old evergreen transplants which are more
mature trees with thicker stems, more branching
and more developed roots. Also, a new seedling
introduction to the 2013 program is the broadleaf
tree Shagbark Hickory.

The District also stocks marking flags, fertilizer
tablets, and tree shelters to help promote the
success of your plantings. Bluebird nest boxes can
be ordered through the program or be purchased
at the District office.

Order forms may be obtained by stopping at the
District office at 50 Commerce Way in East Aurora
(behind Post Office), by calling (716) 652-8480
ext. 5, or by printing the order form from the
District website at www.ecswcd.org. Orders are
due by March 15, 2013 and pick-up will be on
Saturday April 13, 2013 at the Fairgrounds in
Hamburg.

Circle Mirror Transformation
Fri. Feb 1 to Sun. Feb 17
Thursday - Saturday: 8:00pm/Saturday - Sunday: 2:00pm
A WNY Premiere at 710 Main Theatre

Feb. 1 – 17, 2013

By Annie Baker * Directed by Scott Behrend

Five small-town strangers leave their comfort zones and come together in Marty’s “Adult
Creative Drama” community education course. Instructor Marty is boundless in her invention
and enthusiasm, though she has never taught a Theatre class before. Newly minted divorcee
Schultz seeks adventure and validation (or maybe just wants to be around people). Lauren is a
rudderless teenager who half-heartedly participates, despite her claims that she wants to do
some “real acting”. Theresa is a “real actress” – or at least has been trying to be a real actress in
New York City – but now has returned to rural Vermont, stinging from rejection and romantic
disaster. And James is present… well… mostly in a display of moral support (Marty is his wife).

Novice Acting Coach Marty offers this motley crew no end of exercises, games, and self-
reflective assignments to sink their teeth into: they pose as trees, beds, and baseball gloves;
they perform emotional scenes using only words like “goulash” and “ak-mak”; they pretend to
be one another, telling each other life stories (or as best as they’re able to discern). They write
deep, dark secrets (anonymously) on scraps of paper and listen, sitting in a circle on the floor,
as the confessions are drawn at random and read aloud.

“I’m so excited to get to know all of you,” Marty tells her four students at their first meeting.
Eight weeks later, there has been laughter and conflict… discoveries have been made… alliances
and flirtations are formed and discarded, and new ones evolve in their place… and each of these
five strangers has, indeed, come to know one another – and themselves – much more
profoundly and intimately than they ever would have suspected.

RENT
Wed. Jan 23 to Sun. Mar 3
W 7pm; TH 7pm; F 8pm; SA 4pm & 8pm; SU 2pm
It’s an all new look at Jonathan Larson’s Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning musical. With its music stripped down to its essence and played by actors in a deliberate departure from the over amplified arena style performances that earned the show the nickname Rant, this production of RENT promises to bring the compelling story to audiences in a whole new way. h/c access, $
