| Frank Lloyd Wright's Graycliff Estate-Basic Tours |
| Sat. Apr 27 to Sat. Jun 15 |
Enjoy the beauty of nature and an architectural masterpiece—become a docent or volunteer at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Graycliff. And its close, too---just a brief 20 minute drive from Buffalo.
Graycliff Docent Training 2013 will begin on Saturday, April 27th and continue on Saturday mornings at 9 am through June 15th (Except Memorial Day weekend.) Graycliff Docents guide tours for visitors from throughout WNY, across the country and around the globe.
Educational sessions will be held at Graycliff, and offer a wonderful opportunity to learn about Wright’s Organic architecture and Buffalo history; to meet others fascinated by Wright’s architecture; and learn to lead tours that we are regularly told are the most highly regarded of any Wright property nationally.
Sessions will include discussions, readings, guest speakers, presentations available only for docents-in-training, hands-on practice and a field trip or two.
Not interested in becoming a docent, but would like to be involved? Volunteers are also welcome to help with the gift shop; the Green Team (which maintains Graycliff’s historic gardens and grounds); special events; tidying our historic buildings; and many other things. . |

| Breath, Boom by Kia Corthron |
| Fri. May 17 to Sun. Jun 2 |
Next on the Ujima stage is Breath, Boom by Kia Corthron. Fourteen years in the life of Prix, a Bronx native, from her ruthless girl-gang leadership at sixteen through her coming to maturity at thirty. Kia Corthron is a fast rising contemporary playwright. Her ability to convey the language and beat of her characters puts her in a class almost by herself, and this is no more evident than in this play. Corthron is often recognized for tackling important subjects, especially since they are topics, and about people, that the theatre (and film, and television, and every other sort of performance) regularly ignore. |
