The group’s mission is to provide learning and sharing opportunities for family and friends of alcoholics and addicts in an encouraging, confidential, supportive group meeting.

SOS, or Save Our Selves, meets weekly to support and maintain sobriety for those uncomfortable with the spiritual nature of traditional 12-step programs.

The Fathers' Rights Association of Western New York is a private, not-for-profit all volunteer organization. We assist primarily non-custodial fathers, mothers and grandparents, in crisis, from loss of children due to divorce or separation. We function as an emotional support system for people experiencing family structure breakdowns. The organization provides counseling, education, referral, networking, and understanding of the current custody system. Membership dues are $25.00 per year. Dead Sea Scrolls Exhibit

A traveling exhibit about the Dead Sea Scrolls will be displayed for the next two months at Hill Cumorah Visitor's Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Palmyra, NY. It will be open and free to the public from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and Sundays from 12:30 to 6 p.m.
The scrolls were discovered in 1947 by a shepherd in a cave west of the Dead Sea. Since 1952, more than 800 scrolls and scroll fragments have been found containing every book of scripture from the Old Testament except Esther. They are 1,000 years older than any other known copies of Biblical scripture and contain prophecies from Old Testament prophets not found in current scripture.

This exhibition is open to all residents of Artspace Buffalo, presenting a glimpse into each artist’s practice. The work of over 35 artists from all ages, experiences and disciplines will be shown. Many Artspace artists are seasoned veterans of the art world, having shown work in galleries and art fairs from Buffalo to Tokyo over the past several decades. Other Artspace artists are just beginning to experiment with art making, having never shown their work in public.

The mission of the MwM program is to get more
parents involved with their children in positive
activities while using music to prepare them for
the future!

Music with Mar. is a class where a caregiver and
a child participate together in musical activities
which enhance the four main areas of
development-cognitive, social, motor and
language. A good music foundation , as well as
an all around good academic foundation, is laid
through the use of well thought out lyrics and
movements.

Music with Mar. classes:
*focus on the total development of the
child, and not on musicality
*children learn best through play and
activation of many senses
*provides an environment where the parent
and child are comfortable
*children can start to understand how to
behave in this setting.

Buffalo WellFest

Buffalo WellFest aims to increase awareness about healthy living options and support employees and employers in developing personalized programs for fitness, nutrition, reducing risk factors and improving health and productivity.

Attendees will have the opportunity to interface with nearly 200 healthy living providers. Confidential health screenings including blood pressure, cholesterol, blood glucose and body mass index are available from Kaleida Health at no additional charge. Health risk assessments and early detection and prevention screenings are also available from a variety of health care providers.

Vendors will include traditional and alternative medicine healthy living providers, healthy choice eateries and food purveyors, fitness experts, doctors, hospital, pharmaceutical and specialty health care providers, financial planners and a variety of other wellness providers. A farmers’ market will also offer fresh fruits, vegetables and healthy comestibles for purchase.

Shuttle bus service is provided to and from the workplace throughout the downtown business corridor.

Raffle prizes will be given away.

Buffalo WellFest is for employer-sponsored, group admission, pre-event ticket purchase only. Employer discounts are available for large groups, not-for-profit organizations, public sector employers and early-bird registrants.

The event targets 700 businesses and more than 50,000 employees located within a six block radius of Buffalo Place between the HSBC arena and the Buffalo Niagara Medical campus.
